Redmi May Skip K100 Pro Max Branding as New Q11X Flagship Leak Surfaces

Redmi is reportedly changing its plans for the next K-series flagship phone. A new report says the much-talked-about Redmi K100 Pro Max may not launch this year with the same name.

Redmi Q11X flagship smartphone leak with premium camera and Snapdragon chipset

Sources from China claim that the device internally called Q11U, which was earlier expected to become the K100 Pro Max, has now been replaced by another model named Q11X. This suggests Redmi could launch a different flagship variant in the K100 series instead.

This change means Redmi may remove the “Pro Max” branding from its top K100 smartphone and use another name such as Redmi K100 Ultra or something similar. However, the company is still expected to keep the same premium flagship-level hardware.

Earlier leaks directly connected Q11U with the K100 Pro Max project, following the same naming style as the earlier Q90 Pro Max. The shift to Q11X now points to internal redesign and changes before the official launch.

According to leaks, the Q11X-based smartphone could arrive with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. This would be an upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset used in the Redmi K90 Pro Max.

The K90 Pro Max, launched in late 2025, already offers a 6.9-inch OLED display, up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, triple 50MP rear cameras, and a 7,560mAh battery with fast charging. Because of this, the upcoming K100-series flagship is expected to deliver even better performance, camera quality, and power efficiency.

One leak also claims that the Q11X model is being tested with a 200MP main camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. This would be a major camera upgrade compared to the triple 50MP camera setup on the K90 Pro Max. The changes suggest Redmi is focusing more on zoom and low-light photography while still keeping the phone strong for gaming and overall performance.

Reports also mention possible pricing and launch details. Earlier estimates suggested that a K100 Pro Max-style phone could launch in India at around ₹63,000 to ₹64,000. The phone is expected to debut first in China before arriving in global markets. Like Xiaomi’s previous strategy, the top-end K100-series model may also launch internationally under the Poco brand. Some leaks specifically mention the Poco F9 Ultra as the global version of this Q11X flagship device.

At the moment, Redmi is not expected to simply continue the K90 Pro Max lineup with a direct “K100 Pro Max” successor in 2026. Instead, the company may introduce a redesigned flagship phone based on the Q11X codename, possibly under the K100 Ultra name or another branding. Xiaomi and Redmi have not officially confirmed any details yet, but leaks strongly suggest that a new high-performance flagship phone with a large battery and upgraded cameras is coming later this year.
