Realme 16x has cleared an important certification in India, hinting that the phone could launch very soon. The smartphone with model number RMX5270 appeared on the BIS database on May 6. This new model is expected to replace the Realme 15x, which launched last October.
The Realme 16x will join the Realme 16 series alongside the Realme 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Plus. The phone may come in Endurance Brown and Glory White color options. Buyers could get storage choices like 4GB RAM + 128GB, 6GB RAM + 128GB, and 6GB RAM + 256GB.
Leaks suggest the phone may feature a large 6.84-inch IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution of 1080x2400 pixels. It is expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor, which could offer better performance than the Dimensity 6300 used in the Realme 15x. The device may also support expandable storage through a hybrid card slot.

For cameras, the Realme 16x could include a 50MP main rear camera with a 2MP depth sensor. The main sensor is expected to be the Sony IMX852 used in the previous model. The phone may support 1080p video recording at 30fps and features like night mode, panorama, and AI camera tools.
On the front, the phone may offer a 32MP selfie camera inside a punch-hole display. It is also expected to support 1080p video recording for selfies and video calls.
Battery life could be one of the biggest highlights of the device. Rumors suggest a huge 7550mAh battery with 60W fast charging support. The phone may also support 6.5W reverse charging for charging accessories like earbuds or smartwatches. The device is also expected to come with IP69-rated dust and water resistance along with dual-mic noise cancellation.
The earlier Realme 15x launched at Rs 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model and is now selling near Rs 18,490 on Amazon and Flipkart. It featured a 6.8-inch 144Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 50MP dual rear cameras, a 50MP selfie camera, and a 7000mAh battery with 60W charging. It also offered IP69 protection and Android 15 with Realme UI.

The Realme 16x is expected to improve on the older model with a bigger battery and upgraded processor. Reports suggest the starting price could be around Rs 17,999. The phone may compete with devices like Moto G47, Infinix phones, and budget Samsung models.
Other expected features include Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi hotspot support, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and AI photo features. The BIS certification now hints that the official launch may happen very soon in India.
India’s budget 5G market continues to grow, and the Realme 16x could become another strong option for buyers looking for a big battery and solid everyday performance.
