Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Ring 2 is once again in the news with new details about its launch and upgrades. People who liked the first Galaxy Ring launched in 2024 have been waiting for the next version.
A new report from Korea says the Galaxy Ring 2 may launch in early 2027. Earlier reports suggested Samsung could reveal it in late 2026 at a major event, but the company reportedly changed its plans to better match the growing smart ring market and improve its marketing strategy.
The delay also comes as Samsung deals with a patent dispute with Oura Ring that started in late 2025. This issue could affect the launch timeline. Reports say the Galaxy Ring 2 will improve in several important areas. Battery life may increase to 10 days on a single charge, compared to seven days on the first model. This would allow users to wear it longer during workouts and sleep without charging often.

Samsung is also expected to make the ring slimmer and lighter for better comfort throughout the day. Even with the thinner design, it may still keep the strong IP68 rating for dust and water resistance up to 100 meters, along with protection for daily use.
Health tracking features are also expected to improve. The Galaxy Ring 2 may come with more accurate body temperature sensors for better readings during both day and night. Sleep tracking could offer deeper details about sleeping patterns, along with sleep scores and snoring detection like the current model.
Heart health tracking is also expected to become more reliable. Reports also mention possible non-invasive blood glucose monitoring technology, which could allow users to check blood sugar levels without needles. Other sensors may include an accelerometer for step and activity tracking, optical heart rate sensor, pedometer, and skin temperature sensor. These features would continue to work with the Samsung Health app for energy scores, calorie tracking, and AI-based health tips.
The first Galaxy Ring launched in India at a price between Rs 38,999 and Rs 40,999. It came in Titanium Black, Silver, and Gold colors with sizes from 5 to 13. The ring connects to Android phones through Bluetooth and supports pinch gestures for actions like taking photos or stopping alarms. Samsung also avoided subscription fees, unlike some competitors.
There is still no confirmation about NFC support in the Galaxy Ring 2. However, leaks suggest features like SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring and stress recovery tools could be included.

Samsung launched the original Galaxy Ring in mid-2024 as its first smart fitness ring focused on simple and lightweight health tracking instead of bulky smartwatches. The device received strong preorder interest, although later sales reports were said to be weaker than expected. Because of this, Samsung reportedly reconsidered its plans for the next model.
Even so, the company increased production by hundreds of thousands of units worldwide, showing confidence in the smart ring market. Rumors also suggest Samsung could test solid-state battery technology by late 2026, which may help the Galaxy Ring 2 offer even better battery life.
The Galaxy Ring 2 is expected to compete with future Oura Ring models and other smart rings that focus on longer battery life and advanced health tracking. Samsung did not reveal the device during early 2026 Unpacked events, but the expected early 2027 launch could match the release of Samsung’s foldable phones.
If the leaks are accurate, the Galaxy Ring 2 may also bring deeper AI integration with Galaxy smartphones for more personalized health and wellness features. More details are expected to appear in the coming months as Samsung prepares for the launch.
