How to use it
- Choose "PDF → Word" or "Word → PDF" at the top of the tool.

Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Folio reads the file directly in your browser using JavaScript and never sends it to a server. Nothing is stored once you leave the page.
Will the formatting look exactly like the original?
Folio focuses on getting the text and paragraph breaks right rather than pixel-perfect layout. Fonts, images, columns, and complex tables from the original file are not recreated, so it works best for text-heavy documents like essays, letters, and articles.
Why does Word → PDF only accept .docx, not .doc?
Modern .docx files are readable directly in the browser. The older binary .doc format needs different tooling that isn't included here, so files should be saved as .docx first (most versions of Word can do this with "Save As").
What kind of Word file does PDF → Word produce?
It produces a Word-compatible .doc file that Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and LibreOffice all open correctly as an editable document, built from the text extracted out of your PDF.
Can it convert scanned PDFs (images of text)?
No. Folio reads the actual text layer inside a PDF. If a PDF is a scanned image with no selectable text, there is nothing for it to extract.
