Tata Motors has launched the new 2026 Tiago EV facelift in India with prices starting at Rs 6.99 lakh ex-showroom. This electric hatchback now has a much more modern design, a better interior, and many premium features that were not there before.
It remains among the most affordable electric cars in India while growing more appealing to customers. People who want to switch to electric without spending too much money should consider this car. There is also a new battery-as-a-service scheme where prices start at Rs 4.69 lakh plus Rs 2.6 per kilometer, making EV ownership even more affordable.
The car comes in three variants with prices from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom across India. The Smart variant with the 19 kWh medium range battery costs Rs 6.99 lakh. The Pure Plus variant with the 19 kWh battery is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh, while the same Pure Plus variant with the 24 kWh long range battery costs Rs 9.49 lakh. The top Creative Plus variant with the 24 kWh battery is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom and are valid pan-India.

The outside of the 2026 Tiago EV looks much more futuristic than the old model. Tata used a cleaner and simpler styling style that makes the car stand out on Indian roads. The front now has a blank panel in body color instead of the old black grille, which gives it a cleaner look even though it is less sporty. The bumper is redesigned to look smoother and cleaner.
The LED headlamps are thinner and more sharp-looking, giving the car a pointed appearance, but Tata changed from projector headlamps to reflector-style LED lights. The LED daytime running lights have moved inside the headlamp units, whereas earlier they were placed lower near the fog lamps.
Seen from the side, the car's overall shape remains largely unchanged. Tata added new 14-inch steel wheels with covers that look more aerodynamic and modern. The car keeps its black side mirrors with turn signals, wheel arch plastic trim, and Tata EV badges on the doors. At the back, the Tiago EV gets new LED tail lamps connected by a red strip that creates a connected look. The tail lamps have a new vertical slat design that looks much more modern.

The rear bumper is slightly changed to look sharper and cleaner. The roof spoiler with the stop light stays the same. The reverse camera for the 360-degree camera system is now placed lower near the number plate. The car is 3825 mm long, 1684 mm wide, and 1562 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2400 mm. It comes in six colors: Dehradun Dew, Pangong Pulse, Sobo Surge, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Gray, and Pristine White.
The inside of the car has huge upgrades that make it feel much more premium and comfortable. The dashboard now has a two-tone color theme that also appears on the fabric seat covers. The dashboard layout is redesigned with cleaner horizontal lines and shiny black details. The steering wheel now has Tata EV branding instead of the normal glowing Tata logo.
There is a new floating 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment and an updated digital display for the driver, making the dashboard feel very modern. Tata kept the physical buttons for the air conditioner instead of putting everything in the touchscreen, so you have real buttons and knobs for climate control. Because of the better infotainment design, there is more space in the lower center console where charging ports and storage are located.
The seats now have fabric upholstery instead of leather, which makes them feel more comfortable. Small textured details on the dashboard, new window switches, and better placement of important touchpoints make the inside feel practical and more premium. Unlike the old model, this facelift has rear air conditioner vents and rear charging ports for passengers.
The car comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a four-speaker audio system, a cooled glovebox, automatic air conditioning with rear vents, Type-C charging ports at both front and rear, and connected car technology. Other convenience features include auto-folding side mirrors, cruise control, a driver's seat that adjusts 6 ways manually, and push-button start and stop.

Safety has improved greatly with a new 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, which is a first in this segment. The car also gets an auto defogger for the front windshield. Other safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and rear parking sensors.
As a Tata car, the Tiago facelift is expected to get a 5-star rating in crash tests and offers all the safety features you want at this price. The boot space is 240 litres, which is enough for daily city use and weekend trips.
The car keeps the same battery options as before. The smaller 19.2 kWh battery is for buyers who want an affordable city electric car, while the larger 24 kWh battery gives better range for people who drive longer distances. The small battery gives 61 PS power and 110 Nm torque, with a claimed range of 226 km and 0 to 60 kmph in 6.2 seconds. The large battery gives 75 PS power and 114 Nm torque, with a claimed range of 285 km and 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds.
Both batteries charge from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes on a DC fast charger. The car drives smoothly and quietly, making it perfect for daily commuting and city driving. Highway trips may need planning if you want to take it on longer journeys. The Tiago EV facelift competes with the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3, and also serves as a cheaper alternative to the Tata Punch EV.
It stays one of the most affordable electric cars in India while offering a more premium experience for people who want an electric vehicle for daily commuting without spending too much.
