Motorola has officially confirmed that its first book-style foldable smartphone, the Razr Fold, will launch in India on May 13, 2026.
The company announced this through its official X account and also created special pages on Flipkart and Motorola India’s website where some details about the phone are available. This launch is Motorola’s entry into the premium foldable smartphone market in India after the phone was first introduced globally at MWC 2026 in March.
The Razr Fold comes with a large 8.1-inch inner LTPO pOLED display with 2K resolution of 2232x2484 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected with durable Ultra Thin Glass for added strength and protection.
On the outside, the phone has a 6.6-inch LTPO pOLED cover display with 1080x2520 pixels resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and up to 6,000 nits peak brightness. This outer screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 for better durability. Both displays support 10-bit color, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+, making them good for watching content and gaming.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The device offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 internal storage. In India, the phone will be available in two variants: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage. It runs on Android 16 with Motorola’s My UX interface, which includes features made specially for foldable phones. The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
For cameras, the Razr Fold has a triple rear camera setup with three 50-megapixel sensors. It includes a main 1/1.28-inch Sony LYTIA sensor for clear photos in both daylight and low light, a periscope telephoto lens for zoom photography, and an ultra-wide-angle camera for wider shots.
For selfies, the cover display has a 32-megapixel front camera, while the inner display has a 20-megapixel camera. The phone also comes with an IP49 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
The device has a 6,000mAh battery. The phone supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging for quick and convenient power-ups. The Razr Fold will launch in two stylish colors: Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White. Motorola will also launch a limited FIFA World Cup 26 Edition with special football-themed design elements for fans.

The phone will be available for purchase after launch through Flipkart, Motorola India’s official website, and partner retail stores across India. Motorola has not yet announced the India price. Globally, the phone starts at EUR 1,999, which is around Rs 1,78,000, although the final India price may change because of taxes and market positioning. The phone is already available in countries like the US and China, where it has gained attention for its premium hardware and foldable design.
With this launch, Motorola will compete with devices like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series and other premium foldable smartphones in India. Demand for large-screen foldable phones is increasing in the country. Earlier teaser campaigns had already created excitement, and now users only have a few days left before the official launch, hands-on reviews, and exact pricing details are revealed.
