Apple is stepping into one of the biggest iPhone launch years ever. New leaks keep popping up from trusted folks like analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, and Weibo supply chain insiders.

Week by week, we're getting a clearer picture of Apple's September 2026 event. The buzz centers on two gadgets: the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple's first foldable iPhone. Leaks call it the iPhone Fold lately, or sometimes iPhone Ultra.
A Big Jump in the Chip: Meet the A20 Pro
The iPhone 18 Pro and the foldable iPhone will both run on the A20 Pro chip. It's codenamed Borneo Ultra and made on TSMC's 2nm process. That's a real step forward from the 3nm used in today's A19 Pro. Word is, this chip could be 15 to 30 percent more power-efficient than the last one. Picture this: quicker speeds, less heat buildup, and batteries that last way longer something iPhone fans have wanted forever. The Pro models should also pack 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage.
A Fresh Modem That Fixes Connectivity Issues
Along with the chip, the iPhone 18 Pro gets Apple's next C2 modem. It brings mmWave 5G and something super handy for travelers or folks in the middle of nowhere: direct phone-to-satellite internet via the NR-NTN standard. That means apps from others, Apple Maps, and even Photos can work over satellite when cell service vanishes. It's a massive step up from the current iPhones' satellite, which is just for emergencies.
Cameras Level Up Like a Pro DSLR
The iPhone 18 Pro's cameras are where it gets exciting. The main 48MP Fusion camera on both Pro models might get variable aperture. That lets you tweak how much light hits the sensor. Until now, that's been for fancy pro cameras only. You'd control depth of field, shine in dim light, and get way more photo options like the pros. The telephoto lens could be a 48MP periscope type too. Up front, expect a 24MP selfie camera instead of 18MP think crisper pics and better video calls in low light. (Macworld)
Battery Life That Might End Complaints for Good
Everyone's talking about the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery. eSIM-only versions could have a 5,100 to 5,200mAh cell. The ones with a SIM tray might hit around 5,000mAh. That's the biggest battery Apple's ever squeezed into an iPhone. Mix that with the A20 Pro's efficiency, and you're looking at up to 40 hours on one charge. For heavy users who charge daily now, that's a game-changer.

Design Looks Familiar, But With Cool Changes
Don't expect a total redesign for the iPhone 18 Pro. Pro models keep the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, plus the three-camera bump on back. But watch for two tweaks. First, the Dynamic Island shrinks a lot the Face ID infrared part moves under the screen, cutting the cutout from 20.7mm to about 13.5mm. Second, colors: Mark Gurman said in February 2026 Apple tested a deep red like rich burgundy, plus coffee brown and purple. Black's probably out. No LTPO+ display as rumored, but they still get standard LTPO with ProMotion at 120Hz.
The Foldable iPhone: Apple's Boldest Bet
Right alongside the Pros, Apple's first foldable iPhone is finally coming after years of work for a 2026 launch. It's book-style: 5.5-inch outer screen and 7.8-inch inner one, in a titanium body that folds to just 4.5mm thick. Thinner than any regular iPhone ever. Inner screen resolution: 2,713 x 1,920. Outer: 2,088 x 1,422 with a 4:3 ratio like an iPad mini, so iPad apps fit great without tweaks.
Apple tackled the crease issue that bugs Android foldables. Leaks say the iPhone Fold's crease is under 0.15mm deep and under 2.5 degrees barely visible or felt. They used liquid metal for the hinge tougher than titanium, resists bending better.
Cameras: dual 48MP on the back, two 18MP front ones one for outer screen, one for inner. No room for TrueDepth in the super-thin body, so no Face ID. Instead, Touch ID in the power button, like some iPads now.
Samsung Display makes the inner OLED panels, with mass production starting May 2026. Apple upped orders to 20 million units, betting big on demand.
Price, Dates, and the Big Picture
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: announced September 2026, pre-orders right after, shipping same month. Pro Max pricing holds at about $1,199, like now. The foldable? Instant Digital says 256GB, 512GB, 1TB options base at roughly $2,320, 1TB near $3,000.
Unclear if foldable launches in September with Pros or later, like December. But Fixed Focus Digital says no delays production's almost ready. Ming-Chi Kuo predicts 3-5 million units shipped in 2026, way more in 2027. Apple hasn't said a word; all this is from leaks and supply chains before the official reveal.
