Redmi K90 Max Launch: 8,550mAh Battery, Built-in Fan & Dimensity 9500 Gaming Power Exposed

Redmi is about to launch one of its coolest smartphones in a long time. The Redmi K90 Max will go official in China on April 21, 2026, at 4:30 PM IST. Before the big day, the Xiaomi brand has shared lots of real details on Weibo about things like the chip, battery, and screen. Here's a close look at all the details we have right now.

This new phone fits right between the Redmi K90 and the fancier K90 Pro Max, both already out in China. It offers better speed and gaming tricks than the basic K90, but it's not as high-end as the Pro Max. You can pre-order it now in China for only 9.9 Chinese yuan, and some lucky buyers might get a surprise gift pack worth 3,600 yuan.

The phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip made with super-advanced 3nm tech, plus a separate D2 graphics chip just for gaming. This setup splits heavy graphics work to make games smoother, with extras like fake extra frames, smart scaling, and live picture boosts. A Geekbench test showed its main core at 4.21GHz, three strong cores at 3.50GHz, four saver cores at 2.70GHz, and a Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 graphics part. It has 16GB RAM, runs Android 16, and scored 3,513 on single-core and 10,711 on multi-core.

Its screen is a 6.83-inch one built for gamers, with a 165Hz refresh speed and up to 3,500 nits brightness. It's one of the first phones to handle 165fps in HD games natively, and over 40 games can hit that speed. The touch setup is top-notch for e-sports, with 480Hz reporting for multiple fingers and 3,500Hz instant sampling. It even has a 400Hz six-way motion sensor, and Xiaomi tested it for a million touches in a row. For shooter games, it reacts super fast, and for team battle games, it keeps fingers steady and precise.

To protect your eyes, it has Green Mountain Eye Protection 3.0, flicker-free dimming, a special gaming mode to cut blue light just right, circular polarized light version 2.0, super-low 1 nit brightness for dark rooms, and color tweaks for each game.

The biggest buzz is the built-in fan for cooling Redmi's very first. It's about 6% bigger than usual, pulls air straight in from the bottom with tilted blades for better flow, reaching 0.42 CFM speed that's 1.3 times more than rivals. It uses swirling air tricks to cut noise and guides to cover 78% of hot spots.

Even at full speed, it's quiet at 32dB, with three speed options for different needs. It cools the phone by up to 10°C in just 100 seconds. Best part: it still has IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings against dust, deep water, and strong jets. The fan comes with a six-year warranty and free fixes for life.

For gaming, Redmi teamed up with Honor of Kings, a hit team battle game. It has a special touch zone for e-sports, with the movement area super responsive. Tests showed it holding 144fps for four hours straight on max settings, with the phone staying under 37°C on the outside. Audio gets a boost too, with matching 1115K stereo speakers tuned by Bose for great sound in games and videos.

The battery is massive at 8,550mAh one of the biggest around. It supports 100W super-fast wired charging, 22.5W reverse charging to power other devices, 100W PPS, and bypass mode so it runs straight from the wall during hard gaming to keep the battery cooler.

Design-wise, it comes in Space Silver with a full metal flat back, a big camera bump, and a large vent grille for the fan, plus an extra air hole below the cameras. The aluminum edges and tiny bezels make it look sleek. Teasers show two rear cameras, but exact sensor info isn't out yet.

The event isn't just for the phone. On April 21, they'll also show the Redmi Book Pro 2026 in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, powered by Intel's Core Ultra X7 358H chip with 16 cores and up to 180 TOPS AI power plus quick LPDDR5X memory. Plus, the Redmi K Pad 2 powered by Dimensity 9500 and the Redmi Pad 2 SE

These products hit China first, with no word on global release yet. The K90 Max price will drop at the event.
