Maruti Suzuki has posted its best monthly sales ever in May 2026. Strong demand for its passenger vehicles and SUVs helped the company sell 2,42,688 units in total, up from 1,80,077 units in May 2025.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 1,90,337 units in May 2026. This was 40% higher than the 1,35,962 units sold in the same month last year. When Super Carry and OEM supplies are added, Maruti’s domestic sales came to 2,00,774 units, compared with 1,48,858 units in May 2025.
The utility vehicle range was a major reason for the growth. Models like Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6 helped Maruti sell 79,267 utility vehicles in May 2026. This was 44.4% higher than the 54,899 units sold in May 2025.
The compact car segment also did well. Cars such as Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR together sold 97,830 units in May 2026, up from 68,736 units a year earlier. In this group, Alto and S-Presso contributed 16,275 units, while compact and mid-size models contributed 81,555 units.
Eeco van sales stood at 13,240 units, slightly above 12,327 units in May 2025. Super Carry sales also increased to 3,198 units from 2,728 units last year. Maruti’s exports rose to 41,914 units in May 2026 from 31,219 units in May 2025, showing a growth of 34.3%.
For April-May of FY2026-27, Maruti Suzuki sold 4,82,334 units in total, compared with 3,59,868 units in the same period last year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales during this period were 3,78,041 units, while exports reached 81,968 units. The numbers show a strong beginning to the new financial year for Maruti Suzuki.
