This update includes the May 2026 Wear OS security patch that fixes 39 known vulnerabilities in Android and One UI which could put your watch at risk.
Some of these flaws were critical while others were moderate, and fixing them helps block potential threats before they can cause problems.
The update began rolling out in South Korea on June 8 and is now reaching eligible users, with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic getting firmware versions ending in AZE1 while the Watch 7 gets build BZE1.

Besides security fixes, the update also adds system improvements that make the watch more stable and reliable in daily use by smoothing out small glitches and improving overall performance.
Samsung plans to expand this update to older models like the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch 4 series over the coming days so more owners will get these security protections.

You can install the update directly from your watch or through the Galaxy Wearable app on your paired smartphone. In the app, simply go to Watch Settings then Watch Software Update and download the new firmware if it appears for your model.
Samsung recommends keeping your watch at least 50% charged and connecting it to a steady Wi-Fi network before starting because the watch may get warm during installation and a good connection prevents interruptions.
Once the update is installed, your Galaxy Watch will be more secure and perform better for health tracking, notifications, and everyday tasks.
