The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 have both appeared on China's 3C certification database, which means they could be unveiled soon in China and other global markets including India.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 was listed with model number SM-L3550 while the Galaxy Watch 9 got model number SM-L7150 on the certification website. This listing shows that both smartwatches will have 10W wireless charging with a special wireless charging pad, which is the same charging power as their older versions - the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch 8.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the launch date for either smartwatch yet, but multiple signs suggest the company is preparing for a summer release. The Galaxy Watch 9 name was recently spotted on Samsung's website in Canada, and both models were previously seen on the IMEI database with different model numbers SM-L716U and SM-L345U.
The original Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra was launched in July 2024 in India and global markets, featuring a squircle-shaped dial with a round display. It has been almost two years since that launch, and while rumors about a successor have circulated for a while, Samsung has not announced the device until now with this certification listing.
Samsung reportedly plans to launch the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 this summer alongside the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup. The certification listing does not reveal other technical details about the watches, but it confirms both models are real and moving toward an official launch in the near future.
