How to use it
- Drop in a logo or mark — square, high-resolution (512×512+) works best.
- Pick a background: transparent for a logo that's already on its own, or a solid color if your mark is a simple silhouette.
- Adjust padding if the design feels cramped at small sizes.
- Tap "Generate favicon set" and check the preview grid at real favicon scale.
- Download the .zip, drop the files into your site root, and paste the <head> snippet.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Every size is drawn locally on a canvas element in your browser. The only network request is a one-time fetch of the zipping library, not your image.
What goes into the .zip?
All PNG sizes, a multi-resolution favicon.ico (16/32/48px), apple-touch-icon.png, android-chrome-192x192.png and 512x512.png, a site.webmanifest, and a head-snippet.txt with the tags to paste in.
Do I need the full .zip, or is favicon.ico enough?
A plain favicon.ico still works in most browsers, but apple-touch-icon and the android-chrome sizes matter if people ever add your site to a home screen or install it as a PWA. The full set covers both.
Why does my icon look muddy at 16px?
Fine detail and thin lines disappear at that size. A simple mark with bold shapes and enough padding around the edges holds up much better than a detailed logo.
Can I use a non-square source image?
Yes — Cachet center-crops it to a square before generating sizes, so the important part of your image should be roughly centered.
