Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
Each grade is converted to grade points, multiplied by that course's credit hours, summed across all courses, and divided by the total credit hours — a standard weighted average.
Does this match my school's exact scale?
It uses the common 4.0 scale, which most US institutions follow closely, but some schools use their own variations. Check your registrar's scale if you need an exact match.
Can I use this for a single term or my cumulative GPA?
Either — just enter the courses and credit hours for whichever set you want to average, a single term, a year, or your entire transcript.
Is my grade data saved anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server. Refreshing the page will clear your entries.
