Amazon is increasing its work in India’s quick-commerce market by expanding its “Amazon Now” service to 100 cities. This service delivers daily essential items in about 10 minutes.
Earlier, it was only available in big cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR, but now it is expanding further. To support this growth, Amazon is setting up 1,000 new micro-fulfillment centers, which are small storage facilities placed in different areas to deliver orders quickly.
The service is now reaching many cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. It is also expanding to smaller cities like Kochi, Amritsar, and Visakhapatnam.

Amazon is investing more than Rs. 2,800 crore for this expansion. This money will help build infrastructure and also support the safety, health, and financial well-being of workers. With this step, Amazon wants to compete strongly with companies like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, Flipkart Minutes, and BB Now.
An important part of this plan is helping farmers. Amazon said that more than 16,000 farmers will be able to sell their products directly to customers through sellers on Amazon Now. This will make the supply chain more efficient.

Customers can check if the service is available in their area by looking for the “Now” icon on the top banner of the Amazon app. The service offers many products such as groceries, personal care items, fashion and beauty products, health supplements, and small appliances.
The number of monthly orders for Amazon Now is already growing quickly. Amazon is focusing on this plan for the long term to get a bigger share in India’s fast-growing instant delivery market.
