Google is bringing a new tool to Android phones called Contextual Suggestions. It gives people helpful tips based on their daily habits. The tool is a simpler version of Magic Cue.

Magic Cue launched with the Pixel 10 phones in 2025 and only works on Google devices. Contextual Suggestions will likely work on many other Android phones too, not just Pixel.
Contextual Suggestions looks at a person’s normal routine and location. Then it suggests things before the person even opens an app. For example, if someone gets to the airport, the phone can show their boarding pass or flight details.

If they arrive at the gym, it might suggest opening a music app or a workout playlist. This tool was first found in testing in December 2025. Now it is showing up for some people who use stable Android 16. Reports say it was seen on a Pixel 10 phone with Android 16.
Google has not talked about Contextual Suggestions in public yet. The company has also not said which AI model runs it. In the Settings app, the feature is listed as “suggestions from your apps and services based on your routine activities and locations”. It pulls info from many apps at once, not just one app. That makes it smarter than the current App Actions feature on Android.

All user data for this tool stays on the phone. Google says the information is encrypted on the device. It does not leave the phone unless the user chooses to share it for something else. Other apps and services cannot see the raw data.

They only get the final tips. Users can turn off location for this feature. They can also delete all saved data whenever they want. Before it starts, Android shows a message with a link to the settings.
People can find Contextual Suggestions by opening Settings, then Google Services, then All Services, then Others. On Pixel phones, it is also under the profile section in Settings. As of 15 May 2026, some users with stable Android 16 already have it.
This tool is part of Google’s plan to add more Gemini Intelligence to Android. During The Android Show: I/O Edition on 12 May 2026, Google said Android is turning into an “intelligence system” with AI in phones, cars, laptops, and watches.
Other Gemini Intelligence tools include Magic Cue, Rambler for cleaning up voice-to-text, and Create My Widget. These will start coming to Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 phones this summer. Later in 2026, they will also come to smartwatches, cars, smart glasses, and new Googlebook laptops.

Magic Cue will stay only on Pixel phones. Contextual Suggestions brings similar help to more Android phones. It gives useful prompts at the right time and keeps all personal data on the device. Google has not shown screenshots of the feature yet. There is no full release date right now.
