Motorola has entered India’s foldable phone market with its first book-style foldable phone, the Razr Fold. The company launched this premium phone on May 12, 2026.
It has a big display and long battery life to compete with top brands. Pre-orders are open now. The Razr Fold starts at Rs 1,49,999. It will be in stores from May 20, 2026, on Flipkart, https://Motorola.in, and major shops like Reliance Digital.
Motorola first teased the Razr Fold series for India earlier in May. The phone has high-end specs for multitasking and media use. It opens to an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO pOLED inner screen.
The inner screen has 120Hz refresh rate, 6,200 nits peak brightness, 10-bit color, and Dolby Vision support for clear visuals. When open, the phone is 4.6mm thick. When closed, it is 9.9mm thick. It has IP46, IP48, and IP49 ratings for protection against water and dust. It also supports tent mode and laptop mode for video calls or streaming.
The Razr Fold runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with Adreno 829 GPU. It comes with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It uses Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI. Motorola says it will give seven years of OS updates and security patches. It has AI tools like moto ai for notification summaries. It works with Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity AI for daily use.

On the back, the phone has three 50MP cameras. These are a main 50MP Sony LYT-828 camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera with macro, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto lens gives 3x optical zoom and up to 100x AI zoom. It can record 8K video. For selfies, there is a 32MP inner camera and a 20MP cover camera. The setup works for portraits and landscapes with sharp detail.
The phone has a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It is the biggest battery in any foldable phone on the market. It supports 80W wired TurboPower charging, 50W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. The battery can last a full day even with heavy folding and unfolding.
The price for the standard models is Rs 1,49,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs Rs 1,59,999. A special FIFA World Cup 2026 Edition has a textured football-style back with 24K gold-plated "26" branding and the official logo. This version costs Rs 1,69,999 for the 16GB and 512GB option.
