They bring improvements that help phones run more smoothly and handle tasks better. Brands like Oppo, Realme, Redmi, Honor, and others will use these chipsets in upcoming phones launching later this year.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is built on a 4nm process and has an eight-core Kryo CPU. It includes four high-performance cores running up to 2.6GHz and four power-efficient cores running up to 2.0GHz. It supports up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Qualcomm says apps can open 20 percent faster, while screen stutters are reduced by 18 percent with the new Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI technology. Gaming performance is also improved with 21 percent better GPU performance. It includes features such as Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0, Game Super Resolution, and stable frame rates on FHD+ displays with refresh rates up to 144Hz.

For cameras, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 supports 200-megapixel sensors and can record 4K HDR videos at 30fps. It also includes AI Night Vision for better low-light photography. In connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Qualcomm XPAN for wider wireless coverage, and Release 17 5G with download speeds up to 2.8Gbps.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is also built on a 4nm process. It uses an eight-core setup with two performance cores running at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz. Qualcomm says it can open apps 43 percent faster, reduce stutters by 25 percent, and provide 77 percent better GPU performance compared to the previous version.
It also uses the Smooth Motion UI technology. For the first time in the Snapdragon 4 series, it supports gaming up to 90fps and FHD+ displays with 144Hz refresh rates. It also includes power optimization features for longer gaming sessions.
The chipset supports 108-megapixel photography, dual 16-megapixel cameras with zero-shutter lag, along with features like face detection, autofocus, auto-exposure, and electronic image stabilization.

For connectivity, it supports Release 17 5G, Dual SIM Dual Active for using two 5G SIMs together, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and Smart Network Select 3.0 to automatically choose the best network signal. Qualcomm also says the chipset uses 10 percent less power, giving about one extra hour of video streaming.
Qualcomm says these chipsets are designed for everyday needs such as reliable battery life, fast internet, and smooth gaming without high power usage. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will first appear in Honor and Redmi smartphones, while Oppo, Realme, and Redmi will launch phones with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5.
These devices are expected to launch in India and other markets in the second half of 2026, likely in the affordable price segment under Rs 25,000 based on earlier models.
