In India, Mahindra sold 58,021 SUVs in May 2026, up 11 percent from 52,431 units in May 2025. With exports included, total SUV sales reached 59,573 units for the month. Mahindra now sells only SUVs for passengers, as it no longer makes regular cars or vans. All passenger vehicle sales come from the SUV segment now.
For April and May 2026 together, which is the first two months of FY27, Mahindra sold 1,14,352 passenger vehicles in India. This is 9 percent more than the 1,04,761 units sold in the same period last year.

Mahindra's commercial vehicles also grew well. Light commercial vehicles under 2 tonnes sold 3,490 units in India, up 35 percent. Vehicles between 2T and 3.5T sold 20,589 units, up 16 percent.
The three-wheeler segment performed the best. Mahindra sold 12,536 three-wheelers, including electric ones, in May 2026. This is 89 percent more than the 6,635 units sold in May 2025. For April-May 2026, three-wheeler sales were 22,435 units, up 85 percent from 12,105 units last year.
Exports also grew strongly. Mahindra exported 5,000 vehicles in May 2026, up 37 percent from 3,646 units in May 2025. For April-May 2026, exports totaled 9,970 units, up 42 percent from 7,027 units in the same period of FY26.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra's Automotive Division, said SUV sales reached 58,021 units with 11 percent growth, and total vehicle sales were 99,636 units, up 20 percent year-over-year.
He said demand is strong across all Mahindra vehicles, but supply chain issues continue due to worker shortages at some suppliers. Despite these problems, Mahindra kept SUV sales above 58,000 units and grew commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, and exports strongly, giving the company a good start to FY27.
