Frequently asked questions
Does this account for daylight saving time?
Yes. Meridian uses your browser's built-in time zone database, which already accounts for daylight saving rules and any historical changes to a region's offset, so conversions stay accurate for past, present, and future dates.
Why does the date sometimes change between zones?
Time zones don't line up with calendar days, so converting a time near midnight can land on the previous or next day somewhere else. Each result card shows whether it falls on the same day, a day earlier, or a day later than the date you entered.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. All the date and time math happens locally in your browser using standard JavaScript time zone data. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored.
Can I convert a time in the past or future?
Yes, any date works, not just today. This is useful for scheduling recurring meetings or checking what a historical timestamp corresponds to in another zone.
What if a time zone I want isn't in the list?
The zone list is pulled from the standard IANA time zone database available in your browser, which covers essentially every populated region, so searching by city or region name in the dropdown should find it.
