This update comes after a long beta testing period that went on for months, reaching up to Beta 10 in some regions while others had Beta 9.

The beta program started months ago and was later expanded to more devices beyond the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Samsung included devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy Tab S11 in regions such as the UK, India, South Korea, and the US.

Users joined the beta through the Samsung Members app and can still check for updates in Settings under Software update by tapping Download and install. It is recommended to back up data before updating.

One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 and brings many useful improvements, mainly focused on AI and smoother daily use. It adds new call screening features, a better Bixby assistant that understands natural commands and gives real-time web information, and many customizable lock screen animations. The Galaxy S26 series already comes with this software pre-installed, showing Samsung’s focus on it for future devices.

People who tested the beta reported improvements like better quick settings customization and stronger privacy features. The update also improves the media player with a Now Bar for quick access and adds better connectivity between devices. Although Samsung has not officially announced the release yet, leaks from customer support and websites suggest it will follow a gradual rollout to avoid problems.

Galaxy S25 users in India should watch for notifications in the coming week, as the stable update will arrive without needing to join the beta program. The Galaxy S25 starts at around Rs 64,190 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB model in colors like Mint, while the S25 Plus costs about Rs 79,999 in options like Navy or Silver Shadow. These prices are based on current deals on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.

This release ends one of Samsung’s longest beta testing phases and helps ensure the software is reliable before a wider rollout. It offers strong display quality, good cameras, and AI features that match the series’ positive reviews, although charging speeds are limited to 25W and prices are still high.

Users around the world are expected to receive the update soon after the first rollout, helping Samsung stay competitive with other brands releasing Android 16 updates.
