German audio brand Sennheiser has launched two new wired audio products in India called the CX 80U and HD 400U. These are made for users who want simple plug-and-play audio using a USB Type-C connection, without dealing with Bluetooth. They are updated versions of the older CX 80 and HD 400 models.
These new versions are designed for modern devices like smartphones, tablets, and PCs that may not have a 3.5mm headphone jack or prefer USB-C audio. Both models are easy to use, require no pairing or charging, and focus on comfort and durability.
The Sennheiser CX 80U is a wired earphone designed to fit inside the ear. It has a 9.7mm dynamic driver, a frequency range of 17Hz to 20,000Hz, 28 ohms impedance, and about 119 decibels sensitivity. It is lightweight and compact, weighing around 14.3 grams with the cable.

It comes with different sizes of silicone ear tips for a better fit and some noise blocking. It uses a fixed 1.2-metre cable with a USB-C plug, which can connect directly to phones, handheld devices, or laptops. It also has inline controls and a MEMS microphone for music control, calls, and voice assistant use.
The Sennheiser HD 400U is a wired headphone that fits over the ears. It has a closed-back design and uses dynamic drivers with a frequency range of 18Hz to 20,000Hz, around 18 ohms impedance, and about 120 decibels sensitivity.

It is designed for comfort during long use, with replaceable ear pads and a foldable body. It weighs about 217 grams, which is light for this type of headphone. It comes with a 1.4-metre detachable USB-C cable. Users can also replace it with a 3.5mm cable if needed.
Both the CX 80U and HD 400U support high-resolution audio up to 24-bit / 96kHz, which is better than CD quality. They work well with high-quality music files, streaming, gaming, and videos. Since they use USB-C wired connection, there is no need for pairing or charging.
They do not have batteries, so there are no battery issues or connection problems like Bluetooth devices. Both models include inline controls and MEMS microphones for calls and voice use, with clear voice pickup in indoor environments. They are compatible with Android phones, Windows PCs, macOS devices, and tablets that support USB audio.

In India, the CX 80U is priced at ₹1,990, making it an affordable wired earphone. The HD 400U costs ₹5,990, aimed at users who want more comfort with over-ear headphones. The CX 80U comes in Black, Sakura, and White colours. The HD 400U is available only in Black. Both products went on sale from 22 April 2026 through Sennheiser’s official website, online stores like Amazon and Flipkart, and offline stores like Croma and Reliance Digital across India.
These two models are made for people who still prefer wired audio. They are simple upgrades from older 3.5mm headphones, especially for devices that no longer include a headphone jack. They focus on good sound quality, low delay, and strong build while avoiding the complexity of Bluetooth. The new versions are basically USB-C upgrades of older models, which may attract users who like the previous CX 80 and HD 400 series but do not want wireless earphones.
