Vivo is creating a lot of excitement in India with its upcoming X300 Ultra smartphone. It was specially shown at the Vivo Imagine Labs event in New Delhi.
This two-day event brought together content creators, experts, and partners to try the phone’s camera features before launch. The event ended today and gave people a clear idea of what makes this flagship phone special, especially its focus on professional photo and video creation.
The Vivo X300 Ultra was first introduced globally at MWC 2026 and is already available in China. In India, it will launch on May 6 at 12 pm IST. It will come along with the Vivo X300 FE, which is already available in some countries. Both phones will offer Zeiss-supported telephoto converter kits as optional add-ons for better photography. In India, the X300 Ultra will be sold on Flipkart in two colors: Eclipse Black and Victory Green.

The Vivo X300 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, made using a 3nm process for high speed and efficiency. It has a 6.82-inch display with a resolution of 1440x3168 pixels for a great viewing experience. It starts with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, with possible higher options like 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It has a large 6600mAh battery for all-day use and runs on Android 16.
The camera system is a major highlight. On the back, it has a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera for strong zoom. On the front, there is a 50MP selfie camera. It supports professional video features like 4K recording at 120fps with 10-bit Log color for better editing. It also offers Multi-Focal 4K Master Color Video with Dolby Vision and slow-motion recording at 4K/120fps from 0.6x to 20x zoom.

Another key feature is the optional Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra kit. You can purchase it separately or as part of a bundle. It provides a 400mm focal length with 4.7x magnification and uses 14 lens elements in a Kepler Optical design. It has a CIPA 4.5 rating for stability. The kit weighs 248 grams and can extend zoom up to 1600mm. Other features include 60fps autofocus tracking for photos and fast file transfer through USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C.
The Vivo X300 FE also has strong features. It has a slim body of 7.99mm thickness and weighs 191 grams. It comes in colors like Lilac Purple, Noir Black, and Urban Olive. It includes Zeiss 50MP cameras, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage. It has a 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging and 40W wireless charging. Its 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display has a resolution of 1216x2640 and a 120Hz refresh rate.

This launch is happening at a busy time for smartphones in India. Reports suggest the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max may come with a Dimensity 7500 chip and good cameras. Motorola Razr 70 Ultra has appeared in new color designs. Vivo Y6 5G has launched with a 7200mAh battery. Honor MagicPad 3 Pro tablet comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, a very slim 4.8mm design, and a 10100mAh battery. OnePlus Nord 6 is expected on May 7 with an 8000mAh battery and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor.
Vivo is expected to price the X300 Ultra starting at around Rs 75,000 in India, making it competitive for its premium features. People at the Imagine Labs event liked the phone a lot and called it a big step forward for mobile filmmaking. As the May 6 launch gets closer, more details about pricing, full specifications, and early offers are expected. The X300 Ultra and X300 FE are likely to compete strongly in the flagship and upper mid-range smartphone markets.
