Apple has shared new details about the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro through new CAD renders. These renders come from technical drawings used by case makers and show some design changes.
The biggest change is a smaller Dynamic Island at the top of the display. The cutout is said to be only 14.98mm wide, which is around 25 percent smaller than the one on current iPhone 17 Pro models. This could give users more screen space while watching videos, playing games, or using apps.
Apple may achieve this smaller Dynamic Island by hiding the Face ID flood illuminator under the display. This part helps light up the user’s face for unlocking the phone in dark conditions. However, the infrared Face ID camera will still need a visible hole, so the screen will not be completely notch-free yet.

Popular leaks from sources like X user @earlyappleleaks support these details. Other leaks also mention dummy units and screen protectors that match the same measurements. Earlier rumors suggested a 35 percent smaller Dynamic Island, but the latest CAD renders point to about a 25 percent reduction.
Apple first introduced the Dynamic Island with the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022 after removing the older wide notch. Since then, the company has slightly reduced its size each year. For the iPhone 18 Pro, expected in late 2026, Apple is reportedly testing two display designs. One keeps the current Dynamic Island size to reduce production costs, while the other uses this newer smaller version. Right now, the smaller design seems more likely based on the latest CAD files.
On the back, the phone is expected to keep the same rectangular camera bump seen on the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple may still make small changes to the materials or finish for a fresh look.

Other rumors about the iPhone 18 Pro include a possible Dark Cherry color option, a new A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process for better speed and battery life, and variable aperture camera technology for improved photography. Reports also suggest Apple may keep pricing competitive even with rising component costs.
These leaks show that Apple is continuing to improve its flagship phones with gradual upgrades instead of major redesigns. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to launch around September 2026. Until then, more details may appear through supply chain leaks and testing units.
