A new update suggests that Samsung is preparing to launch its next top smartwatch. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 was recently seen on Samsung’s official websites in some countries.
It appeared on Samsung Canada’s website in a list of smartwatches that will get software updates. Earlier, the watch was also found in the IMEI certification database with model number SM-L345U. Along with it, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 was listed with model number SM-L716U.
The name “Galaxy Watch 9 range” appeared two times on Samsung’s Canadian website. It could be seen on both the English and French trade-in pages in the company’s device evaluation system. This listing did not show any detailed features, but it clearly suggests that Samsung is getting ready to officially launch this smartwatch in global markets. This is also the first time the next model after the Galaxy Watch 8 has been mentioned on an official website before any announcement.
The Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to launch with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026. Reports say that the watch may go on sale about two weeks after the announcement, likely in late July or early August 2026. Samsung usually releases a new version of its smartwatch every year, like the Galaxy Watch 6 in July 2023, Galaxy Watch 7 in July 2024, and Galaxy Watch 8 in July 2025.

Leaks and rumors say that the Galaxy Watch 9 will come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, just like the Galaxy Watch 8. It may have a slightly bigger display, possibly a 1.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with 438×438 resolution and 462 ppi pixel density. The watch is expected to use the same Exynos W1000 3nm processor, along with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, which was also used in the Galaxy Watch 8.
The battery capacity is expected to be around 435mAh, giving about 30 hours of battery life with the always-on display turned on. The watch will support Bluetooth and LTE connectivity, using Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, and NFC. It will also support GPS systems like A-GPS, Beidou, Galileo, and Glonass for better location tracking during outdoor use.

Health and fitness features are expected to improve slightly rather than change completely. These improvements may include better heart-rate tracking, sleep tracking, and stress monitoring. The watch will likely continue to use Samsung’s BioActive sensors, which include ECG, blood pressure tracking, body composition measurement, and AGES Index for aging tracking. It may also include temperature sensing and antioxidant tracking, similar to features introduced in the Galaxy Watch 8.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 8 in India in July 2025 at a starting price of Rs. 32,999 for the 40mm Bluetooth model and Rs. 35,999 for the 44mm model. The Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to have a similar price unless there are major upgrades or new features. The final price may also depend on whether LTE support is included or optional.
The Galaxy Watch 8 has a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display with 480×480 resolution, 327 ppi density, and up to 3,000 nits brightness for outdoor visibility. It weighs about 34 grams and includes features like heart-rate tracking, ECG, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, fall detection, and blood pressure tracking through the Samsung Health app on Android and iOS devices.

Testing for the Galaxy Watch 9 software has already started on Samsung’s servers in the United States. This shows that the device is moving from development to testing. This matches Samsung’s usual pattern, where testing starts a few months before launch. The watch is expected to run Wear OS 4.0 or a newer version, with Samsung’s software and access to apps from the Google Play Store and Samsung Health system.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which was also listed in the IMEI database, may launch at the same event. It could include improvements like better 5G connectivity. Samsung has not officially confirmed the launch of these devices yet, but the website listings, IMEI records, and testing details strongly suggest that the official announcement will happen soon. People in India and other countries are now waiting for full details, pricing, and pre-order information.
