Vivo has started working on its next smartphone series after launching the X300 series earlier this year. New listings in the IMEI database show three upcoming phones:
Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500e. The company skipped the X400 name because the number four is linked with death in Chinese culture, which many Asian brands avoid.
The IMEI listings only confirm that these phones are being tested and do not reveal specifications yet. However, leaks suggest that the Vivo X500 may come with a 6.37-inch display, making it easier to use with one hand.

The Vivo X500 Pro could have a larger 6.83-inch display with possible 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming. Both phones are expected to include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensors under the display, which are faster and more secure than optical sensors.
The phones are expected to use MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series processors for strong multitasking and AI performance. Both main models may have large 7,000mAh batteries with 100W wired fast charging.
The camera setup could include a 50-megapixel main sensor with LOFIC technology for better low-light photos and improved dynamic range. Higher models may also feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera for high-quality zoom photography.
The Vivo X500e will likely be the budget model in the series for users who want X-series features at a lower price. Vivo did not launch an X300e this year, so the X500e may fill that gap. The launch is expected later in 2026, possibly around September or October, first in China and later in markets like India.

The new phones will continue from the X300 and X300 Pro series, which launched in India starting at Rs 75,999 and received praise for cameras, displays, and battery life, though some users reported heating during heavy gaming.
There are also rumors about a possible Vivo X500 Pro Max or Ultra model with bigger upgrades, including Snapdragon processors in top variants. Vivo recently launched the X300 Ultra and X300 FE in India, showing that the company continues to release new devices regularly. More details, including launch dates and full specifications, are expected after future certifications and official announcements.
