Samsung is about to launch its new foldable phone called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and fresh leaked photos now show us exactly what it looks like. These leaked hands-on images and short videos display the phone both closed and open, and they also reveal the official wallpapers that will come with it.

The wallpapers appear in four different colors, and all of them share the same wave-like pattern theme on both the outer screen and the big inner foldable display.
The most noticeable design change is that the borders around the outer screen are thinner than on the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7, which gives you more screen space in the same easy-to-hold size. The outer screen uses a small hole-punch cutout for the front camera instead of the larger pill-shaped cutout.
On the right side of the phone, the power button and volume buttons sit in their normal positions. The phone has a short, squarish shape that looks a bit like a passport, and it keeps the clean camera design Samsung has been using.
The leaked specs show this phone will be a major upgrade. It will have a 6.5-inch outer screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an 8.0-inch foldable inner screen that also runs at 120Hz. Both screens support HDR10+ and can get very bright up to 2,600 nits, making them easy to use even in bright sunlight.
Inside, the phone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which is the most powerful mobile processor available right now and can handle heavy games and tough tasks without slowing down.
For cameras, the Z Fold 8 Ultra will bring big improvements with a triple rear camera system. It will have a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera that gives 3x optical zoom.

For selfies, there are two 10-megapixel cameras, one on the outer screen and one on the inner screen. All cameras can record 4K video at 60fps with HDR10+, and the main and ultra-wide cameras may even support 8K video at 30fps.
The battery and charging get some of the biggest upgrades. The phone will have a 5,000mAh battery, which is about 13% larger than the 4,400mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Charging speed jumps to 45W for wired charging, a big step up from the previous 25W, and it still supports 25W wireless charging.

Even with the bigger battery, the phone stays just as light as the Fold 7 at 215 grams, and it actually gets a bit thinner when opened, dropping from 4.2mm to 4.1mm.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is already getting regulatory approvals, which usually means the launch is very close.
Samsung is expected to unveil it on July 22 at a Galaxy Unpacked event in London, where it will be shown alongside the regular Galaxy Z Fold 8. This launch date matches multiple recent reports, and the approvals suggest the phone will be ready for sale shortly after the event.
