Huawei Watch Buds 2 Launched: Smartwatch with Built-In Earbuds, AI Health Features, and Sleek Design

Huawei has introduced the Watch Buds 2, a special smartwatch that has wireless earbuds built inside it, making it a 2-in-1 device for people who like having everything together. It was launched today in China along with the Pura 90 series.

This new watch improves on the Watch Buds from 2023 by adding smarter features and a more stylish design. It has a round titanium alloy case that feels high-quality but is still light, weighing about 54.5 grams. The earbuds are very small, just 4 grams each, and can be easily taken out for calls or music.

The main highlight is its 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display. It has a clear resolution of 466x466 with 310 pixels per inch and a very high brightness of 3,000 nits, so it is easy to see even in bright sunlight. The built-in earbuds use adaptive technology, allowing you to use either one in the left or right ear. They have touch controls for volume and playback and include noise reduction for clearer calls. The earbuds can play for up to 4 hours without noise cancellation or 3 hours with it. They charge automatically when placed back inside the watch.

The watch also has improved health tracking. It includes sensors like a 6-axis motion sensor, optical heart rate monitor, ambient light sensor, Hall sensor, capacitive sensor, and bone conduction sensor. It can track heart rate all day, analyze sleep in detail, monitor stress, measure heart rate variability, provide emotional well-being reports, and even give AI-based warnings for hyperglycaemia risk.

For fitness, it offers AI sports analysis, many workout modes, and simple health summaries that you can see on your wrist. It runs on HarmonyOS and connects easily to Android and iOS phones using Bluetooth 5.2. It also supports NFC payments and has full GNSS support, including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo for accurate location tracking.

Battery life is strong for such a device. The watch and earbuds together can last up to 3 days on one charge, while the earbuds alone are suitable for daily use. Charging fully takes about 100 minutes and supports wireless charging. The watch measures 47x47x14.69mm, making it slimmer than the previous version, and it uses a new magnetic system to hold the earbuds. The earbuds have an IP54 rating, meaning they are protected from dust and splashes, but water could enter if the compartment is open.

The starting price is CNY 3,488 (about Rs. 47,600) for colors like Amber Brown and Obsidian Black. The Titanium Silver version costs CNY 3,988 (about Rs. 54,500). Pre-orders are already open in China through Huawei’s website and stores, and official sales will begin on April 25.

There is no information yet about a global launch, but based on the previous model, it may arrive in places like India or Europe by mid-2026. Buyers can choose from different strap options, including leather, strong fluoropolymer materials, or titanium for a premium feel.

This launch shows that Huawei is trying new ideas in wearable technology. It improves earlier issues like battery life and size while adding smarter AI features and better sound. For people who like fitness tracking, listening to music while moving, or avoiding carrying extra earbuds, the Watch Buds 2 could be an interesting option to look out for when it becomes available in more places.
