iPhone 18 Pro Leaks Explained: New Colours, A20 Chip, Battery Boost and India Price

Apple is getting ready to launch its next premium phone, the iPhone 18 Pro, and even though nothing is officially confirmed yet, many leaks have already given a fairly clear idea of what to expect.

Most reports suggest that instead of making big changes, Apple is focusing on improving what already works well, while adding some fresh touches in design, colours, performance and battery life.

One of the most talked-about updates is the new colour options. This time, Apple may move beyond its usual simple shades and introduce richer colours. A deep red shade called “Dark Cherry” is expected to stand out the most, giving the Pro model a bold and premium look. Along with this, colours like light blue, dark grey and silver are likely to be available. Some leaks also mention extra shades like a coffee-like brown and a deep purple, but these might not be launched in every market.

When it comes to design, the phone is expected to look quite similar to recent Pro models. It will likely keep the flat edges and premium metal frame along with the triple-camera setup on the back. However, the rear design might look cleaner, as Apple could remove the two-tone finish and go for a single, smooth colour across the back. There are also mixed reports about the Dynamic Island on the front, with some saying it could become slightly smaller, while others believe it may stay almost the same for now.

The display is expected to stay close to the current sizes, around 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. Apple will likely continue using its high-quality OLED display with smooth refresh rates, but improvements may focus more on better brightness and power efficiency. There are also hints that Apple is working towards placing Face ID components under the screen, which could reduce the visible cutout on the front.

Performance is expected to see a noticeable boost with a new A20 chip, which is said to be built using advanced 2nm technology. This upgrade should make the phone faster, smoother and more efficient, especially for gaming, multitasking and AI-based features. Even if the RAM stays similar to the previous model, the improved chip should make overall usage feel quicker and more responsive.

Battery performance is also likely to see some improvements. The Pro Max version could come with a larger battery, possibly around or above 5000 mAh. Combined with a more efficient processor, this should result in longer usage time, especially for heavy tasks like streaming, gaming or navigation. Even the regular Pro model may see better battery life due to improved efficiency.

The camera setup will likely remain triple-lens, but Apple is expected to improve the sensors and image processing. This should help in taking better low-light photos, clearer zoom shots and smoother videos. Features like Night mode, HDR and Portrait photos are also expected to become faster and more natural-looking, which will be useful for people who create content or share photos and videos regularly.

There are also strong rumours that Apple might introduce its first foldable iPhone around the same time. This device is expected to be more expensive and aimed at premium users, with limited colour options like silver, white and blue. In India, its price could go close to ₹2 lakh depending on the variant, making it a high-end experimental device rather than a mass-market product.

As for the launch timeline, the Pro models are expected to arrive around September 2026, which follows Apple’s usual pattern. However, the standard iPhone 18 might be launched later, possibly in early 2027. This suggests Apple could be planning a staggered release to keep its product lineup fresh for a longer time.

Talking about pricing in India, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to start somewhere between ₹1.43 lakh and ₹1.49 lakh. The Pro Max version could be priced slightly higher, around ₹1.5 lakh to ₹1.6 lakh. The regular iPhone 18 may start around ₹85,000, while the foldable version could be much more expensive.
