Vivo X Fold 6 vs Xiaomi Mix Fold 6: Bigger Batteries, Better Cameras and Smarter Foldables in 2026

Chinese smartphone brands Vivo and Xiaomi are preparing their next foldable phones for 2026. New leaks say that the Vivo X Fold 6 will focus on a big camera upgrade and a very large battery.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 6 is expected to come with a new in-house processor and launch later in the year. Overall, leaks suggest strong hardware, long battery life, and a move toward more practical everyday use instead of just showing the folding design.

Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to be the next version after the X Fold 5. It will keep the book-style folding design with two screens but improve important features. Early information says it may use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, which gives near-flagship performance with better efficiency. It could also have 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, helping the phone run smoothly during heavy multitasking on both screens.

For display, the Vivo X Fold 6 may have an 8.03-inch inner screen with LTPO AMOLED, 120 Hz refresh rate, and full-HD-plus resolution. The outer screen could be 6.6 inches with 120 Hz as well. These screens may support high brightness, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision features with slim bezels. This should make it feel like a small tablet when opened and a normal phone when closed. It may also include splash and dust resistance, making it more durable for daily use.

The camera is one of the biggest highlights. The phone may have a 200 MP telephoto camera, along with a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, all with Zeiss tuning. This setup should give strong zoom, clear photos, and better low-light results. On the front, there may be two 32 MP selfie cameras one on the outer screen and one under the inner display for good selfies and video calls.

Battery and charging are also expected to improve a lot. Some leaks mention a battery around 7,000 mAh, while others suggest 6,500 mAh. It may support 100 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. This setup aims to fix the common problem of low battery life in foldables. At the same time, the phone is expected to stay relatively thin and light despite the big battery and folding mechanism.

For software, the Vivo X Fold 6 will likely run Android 16 with Funtouch OS. It may include AI features like AI photo editing, background removal, live translation, and improved camera modes. These tools can help users take better photos easily. Connectivity features may include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and support for global navigation systems including NavIC.

On the Xiaomi side, the Mix Fold 6 is expected to be different in focus. It may launch in the third quarter of 2026, between July and September. This later launch could allow Xiaomi to improve the phone based on competitor devices. Some leaks also suggest the phone might be marketed under a different name like Xiaomi 17 Fold.

The biggest change for Xiaomi could be its processor. Instead of using only Qualcomm chips, Xiaomi may use its own Xring O3 processor. This would help Xiaomi control performance, power use, and AI features better. The chip is expected to give performance close to flagship Snapdragon processors, while working well with Xiaomi’s software and foldable features like split-screen and app continuity.

Camera and battery details for Xiaomi are less clear but follow the same trend. The Mix Fold 6 is expected to improve camera quality with possibly 100–200 MP sensors, better zoom using periscope lenses, and improved ultra-wide cameras. Battery capacity may also increase, possibly reaching or going beyond 6,000 mAh, which is becoming common for foldables in 2026.

Both phones are expected to be premium devices aimed at business users, content creators, and heavy users. The Vivo X Fold 6 may launch in India at a high price similar to other foldables like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Huawei Mate X5. Xiaomi’s pricing is not confirmed but may be slightly lower than Samsung’s while still offering flagship features.
