Xiaomi 17T Leaks Reveal Dimensity 8500 Chip, 144Hz Display and Big Battery Ahead of Launch

Xiaomi is getting ready to launch its new T-series phone, the Xiaomi 17T, in global and Indian markets.

Leaks and official listings suggest the launch will happen very soon. This phone will sit below the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra but will still offer strong, flagship-level features at a lower price. Early listings on testing and certification platforms already give a good idea about its performance, battery, and software.

The Xiaomi 17T has appeared on Geekbench AI with the model number 2602DPT53G. It is expected to use a MediaTek processor with one core at 3.40GHz, three cores at 3.20GHz, and four cores at 2.20GHz, along with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU.

These details match the Dimensity 8500 chip, which is also used in phones like Oppo K15 Pro, iQOO Z11 5G, and Motorola Edge 70 Pro. This shows the phone will offer strong performance for gaming, multitasking, and AI features, placing it in the mid-to-high-end category.

Benchmark scores show the Xiaomi 17T getting around 777 points in single-precision AI tests, 858 points in half-precision, and about 1,160 points in overall AI performance. These scores indicate the phone can handle AI tasks like image processing, voice assistants, and background optimisation quite well. It performs closer to upper-midrange phones rather than budget ones, though it may not match top flagship devices.

Certification listings from Singapore (IMDA) and Thailand (NBTC) suggest the phone is in its final launch stage. These also confirm both the Xiaomi 17T and a higher-end Xiaomi 17T Pro version.

The Pro model may use a more powerful Dimensity 9500 chip and better camera and display features. The timing of these approvals hints at a global launch around April–May 2026, which is earlier than Xiaomi’s usual September timeline.

In India, reports suggest the Xiaomi 17T may go on sale by late April or early May 2026, after the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra launch in March. It is expected to be priced between ₹50,000 and ₹60,000 depending on variants. This will place it between flagship models and cheaper Redmi and Poco phones, competing with brands like OnePlus, iQOO, and Realme.

Leaks suggest the phone will have at least 12GB RAM, up to 256GB UFS 4.1 storage, and a large battery between 6,500mAh and 7,000mAh. It may feature a 6.7–6.8 inch AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, along with HDR support and high brightness. The camera setup could include three 50MP rear cameras (wide, ultrawide, telephoto) and a 32MP or 50MP front camera, depending on the version.

The Xiaomi 17T is expected to run Android 16 with HyperOS 3. This should bring better performance, smoother interface, improved connection with Xiaomi devices, and new AI features like smarter notifications and enhanced photo editing. It may also offer better software support and security updates, though exact details are not confirmed yet.
