Vivo is getting ready to launch its next flagship phones, called the X500 series, sometime in 2026. Reports and leaks say there will be at least three models: the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max.
There may also be another model later, like an Ultra version. These phones are being made to compete directly with other Chinese flagship phones like Xiaomi’s 18 series, especially in display, camera, and battery performance.
The launch of the main Vivo X500 series is expected around September 2026 in China. A higher-end or Ultra model could come slightly earlier or later. If this schedule is followed, the phones may launch in India soon after, as Vivo usually brings its X-series to India within a few weeks. Early listings suggest the Vivo X500 may start around ₹79,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the Vivo X500 Pro could start around ₹99,999 with similar specs.
The display is expected to be one of the main highlights. One model may have a large 6.85-inch LTPO flat AMOLED screen with 2K resolution for very sharp visuals and smooth use. Another model could have a 6.37-inch LTPO screen with 1.5K resolution.

A third option might include a 6.59-inch LTPS flat panel, also with 1.5K resolution, helping Vivo offer lower prices in some markets. All these displays are expected to support a 144Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, gaming, and videos feel very smooth, especially on the Pro and Pro Max models.
For performance, the Vivo X500 series is expected to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 chips. The standard X500 may use the Dimensity 9600, while the Pro and Pro Max could use the more powerful Dimensity 9600 Pro.
These processors are built on a 2-nanometre-class process and are designed to give strong performance while keeping heat and power use low, which is important for gaming and video watching. Vivo may also continue using both Snapdragon and Dimensity chips in different regions, but current leaks mainly mention the Dimensity 9600 for this series.

The cameras are expected to be a major focus. The top model, Vivo X500 Pro Max, may include a Sony LYT-838 sensor with LOFIC technology, which helps balance light in photos. It is also expected to have a 200MP periscope telephoto lens for strong zoom, along with an improved ultra-wide camera.
This setup should handle portraits, landscapes, and close shots well. The X500 and X500 Pro are likely to continue Vivo’s partnership with ZEISS, which usually improves colour, contrast, and reduces glare in photos and videos.
Battery performance is also expected to be a key highlight. The Pro Max and some higher models may include batteries around 7,000mAh, which is bigger than the 6,500–6,600mAh batteries in the current X300 series. Some reports even say related mid-range models could go up to 9,000mAh. Fast charging is expected to be around 100W, which could charge the phone from almost empty to full in about 30 minutes or less, depending on the model.

For security, all models may come with 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors. These are usually faster and more reliable than older optical sensors, especially in low light or with slightly wet or dry fingers. The phones are expected to run Android 16 with Vivo’s Funtouch OS or OriginOS on top, including AI features like better battery management, voice assistance, and camera improvements such as auto-bokeh and night mode tuning.
In terms of design, the X500 series is expected to have slim bodies with glass backs, metal frames, and very thin bezels. The larger 6.85-inch Pro model may still stay between 8–8.5mm thick, even with a 7,000mAh battery, so it does not feel too heavy. The Pro and Pro Max models may also include IP68 or better water and dust resistance, similar to recent Vivo models.
In India, Vivo is likely to market the X500 series as a premium but practical option compared to Samsung’s S26 series and Xiaomi’s 18 series. The strong display, camera, and battery features may attract users who watch content, create social media posts, or need long battery life for travel or gaming. The expected pricing around ₹80,000 for the base model and over ₹1 lakh for higher models places it in the premium segment for users who want strong performance without choosing the most expensive brands.
