Samsung’s 2026 Foldables Leaked: Z Fold 8 Ultra Confirmed with Wider Cover Screen, Flip 8 Gets Big Outer Display Upgrade

Samsung is about to launch three new foldable phones next month, and a new leak shows exactly how the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 will look when folded.

The leak shares an image of screen protectors for the outer displays of all three phones placed side by side, which clearly shows their sizes and shapes.

The biggest surprise is the confirmed name Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, a new premium model that will replace last year's Galaxy Z Fold 7. This Ultra version will have a much wider body than the regular Fold 8 and features a large camera cutout on the back, which means it will likely have Samsung's best camera setup with possibly a 200MP main sensor.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 keeps the same book-style fold design but will have a wider cover screen, fixing the main issue of the narrow outer screen on older models.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 also gets a bigger cover screen that stretches close to the edges. Instead of separate holes for each camera like the Flip 7 had, the Flip 8 uses one long cutout that holds both cameras together. This gives the Flip 8 more screen space for showing things while keeping its slim folding design.

All three phones will launch at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London, according to several reports. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will both use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 12GB RAM, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to use Samsung's Exynos 2600 chip. The phones have recently appeared on India's BIS regulatory database, which means they will launch in India soon after the global event.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will likely have the best specs with a 6.5-inch cover screen, 8.0-inch inner screen, 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 10MP telephoto camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

The regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 will have a 50MP main camera and 50MP ultrawide camera in a lighter design, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will probably keep its 50MP main camera with around 4,300mAh battery and 25W charging. These leaks show Samsung is adding more foldable options for different buyers and budgets.
