Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens entirely on your device using your browser's built-in canvas engine. The image is never sent to a server.
What happens if I unlock the proportions?
With the lock open, width and height can be set independently, which will stretch or squash the image if the new ratio doesn't match the original.
Can I make an image larger than the original?
Yes, using percentages above 100% or entering larger pixel dimensions, though enlarging a photo beyond its original size can make it look soft or blurry.
Which format should I choose?
JPEG works well for photos, PNG is best when you need transparency or sharp edges like text and logos, and WebP often gives the smallest file for similar quality.
Why did my resized PNG keep its transparent background?
PNG supports transparency, so resizing preserves it. Switching the output format to JPEG will fill any transparent areas with white.
