How to use it

Frequently asked questions
Does Signet store or send my data anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated entirely on your device using JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you type is logged, saved, or transmitted anywhere.
What does error correction actually do?
It adds redundancy to the code so it can still be scanned even if part of it is smudged, torn, or covered by a logo. Higher levels tolerate more damage but make the code visually denser.
Is there a limit to how much text I can encode?
Signet allows up to 1500 characters. Very long text produces a denser, harder-to-scan code, so short links or messages tend to work best in practice.
Can I use custom colors for logos or branding?
Yes, though for reliable scanning it's best to keep strong contrast between the foreground and background colors — very light foregrounds on light backgrounds can be hard for scanners to read.
What image format does the download use?
Codes download as PNG files, which keep sharp edges at any size and work well for both print and digital use.
